Aviation
Business Card (front and back):
During
the 1915 fair, Allan Loughead took visitors on Bay Area flights.
He and his brother Malcolm later changed their name to Lockheed
(being tired of the constant mispronunciation of their Scottish/Irish
name) -- and the rest is history.
Thanks
to Thom Dickerson
for sharing this card. Thom's father had a long history in aviation,
including having worked with Lincoln Beachey -- the stunt aviator
who tragically was killed at the PPIE while doing aeronautics
in front of a large crowd.
